Corona virus: Information for the cathedral


From Friday 15 May 2020, public services will once again take place in the cathedral, some guidelines must be observed.

Measures in the liturgy from May 15, 2020

A welcome service is available as a service at the entrance to the cathedral, which is intended to indicate compliance with the regulations.

If you are sick, feel sick or if you suspect that you are ill, please do not participate in church services.

When entering the cathedral, it is compulsory to wear a mouth and nose protection (mask, scarf, cloth) (this does not apply to children up to the age of six).

Disinfectant dispensers for hand disinfection are located in the entrance area.

The holy water pools remain empty.

A maximum of 300 people may be present in the cathedral for each service. Pre-registration is not necessary.

Please keep a distance of two meters in the cathedral from all people with whom you do not live together.

This gap may only be briefly undercut when receiving communion.

We also kindly ask you to refrain from any physical contact when greeting the peace, but to give each other a friendly sign - a nod or a smile.

During the communion the body of Christ is donated exclusively in the hand, the words "The body of Christ-Amen" are dropped.

At the end of the service for the collections, there are baskets at the exits.

Visits and tours:

The cathedral is open for personal prayer outside of church service. Visits and tours are prohibited until further notice.

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
