The Rupert bell was installed in the cathedral vestibule before being mounted in the south tower.

This bell hangs in the middle of the south tower belfry (on the Kapitelplatz side) of the cathedral.
Donator: Salzburger Sparkasse, Sponsors: The wives of the directors of the Salzburger Sparkasse, Alwine Bayr, Risa Bäck and Else Rücker.

It rings at the hour of Jesus’ death every Friday at 3:00 p.m. and on church holidays.
This bell strikes the hours of the cathedral tower clock.
